Woman killed in Mattapan carjacking remembered as ‘beautiful soul’

Pedestrian Hit Boston Massachusetts in Boston, Massachusetts: Mabinty Janneh, 32, of Dorchester, was struck and dragged several hundred feet by a stolen car driven by Ibraim Matos, 37, of Hyde Park, along Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan on Saturday afternoon. Prosecutors allege Matos carjacked a woman outside a Mattapan car wash, then drove the wrong way down Blue Hill Avenue toward Mattapan Square, jumped a curb, and sped down the sidewalk, striking and killing Janneh. Janneh was pronounced dead at the scene. Matos has pleaded not guilty to charges including murder, carjacking, leaving the scene of personal injury and death, and motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation.
