Preliminary information shows a 2024 BMW M3 was traveling east on Highway 9 when the driver, a 21-year-old man from Yuba City, lost control of the vehicle, causing the BMW to go off the road and down a steep embankment. The driver, along with two passengers — a 27-year-old man from Salem, Oregon, and a 17-year-old boy from San Jose — died from their injuries. The road was closed for three hours while CHP investigated the deadly crash.
