Just after 10 a.m., authorities responded to the intersection of Highway 81 and Highway 8 at Chester for a report of a crash involving two semis. A westbound semi was stopped at the northeast corner when it entered the intersection, crossing Highway 81 into the path of a southbound semi. The driver of the westbound semi, 71-year-old Ziegler of Superior, was unrestrained, was ejected from the semi and died of his injuries. The driver of the southbound semi, a 61-year-old man from Minnesota, was wearing his seat belt and had minor injuries.
