Columbus police said the adult was initially taken to a hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries after the crash, then began walking away into the eastbound lanes of Morse Road. The black sedan, a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu, did not stop and continued east on Morse Road. The victim was pronounced dead at 12:41 a.m., and approximately 90 minutes later the driver of the Malibu contacted police and reported involvement in the crash.
