According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 71-year-old Summerfield man driving a pickup truck west on Southeast 178th Street stopped at a stop sign at County Road 475, then made a wide right turn onto County Road 475 and entered the motorcyclist's path. The front of the motorcycle struck the left front of the pickup truck, throwing the motorcyclist from the motorcycle. The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead; the pickup driver was not injured.
