Car Crash Charlotte Maine in Charlotte, Maine: Robert Boggia Jr., 40, of Whiting, Maine, died in a single-vehicle crash on Charlotte Road in Charlotte shortly before 12:50 a.m. Saturday. Police say Boggia had threatened people with a firearm at a bar in Calais before fleeing, and was later spotted driving a red Chevrolet Corvette at an estimated 150 mph on Route 1 in Calais. Baileyville police and a Washington County Sheriff's deputy attempted to catch up with the car but were unable to do so before the deputy came upon the crash scene. Boggia was thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene; high speed was cited as the most significant contributor to the crash, and toxicology results are pending.
