Semi Truck Crash Richland Washington in Richland, Washington: A 58-year-old Richland grandmother, Weers (also known as Leckenby), was killed when her Subaru Outback was struck by a semi on Highway 240 in Richland, Washington, on Friday night around 8:20 p.m. She had been taking Slurpees to her grandchildren and was turning left on a green light from Duportail Street when the semi, driven by Micheal Tekeste Asgodom, 46, of Shoreline, Wash., failed to obey a traffic signal and hit her car. Her 8-year-old granddaughter in the backseat was injured and taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The Washington State Police said charges against the truck driver are pending and drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors.
