Bicycle Crash Albuquerque New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico: A vehicle driven by Brent Curley turned eastbound from Sycamore Street Southeast onto Central Avenue Southeast around 6:15 a.m. Saturday in Albuquerque, veered into the ART bus lane, cut between two bicyclists and struck one of the cyclists near Central Avenue Southeast and Maple Street Southeast. The cyclist, identified as Maykel Garcia, was taken to a local hospital but did not survive his injuries. Officers at the scene found an open container of alcohol in Curley's vehicle; Curley denied alcohol use but admitted to consuming medical cannabis and refused a field sobriety test. Curley has been charged with vehicular homicide, violation of open container laws, unsafe passing on the left side and failure to yield right-of-way.
