Pedestrian Hit Ohio Today in Ohio: A 1994 Oldsmobile driven by a 23-year-old Steubenville man was traveling north on State Route 45 near mile marker 23 in Perry Township around 6 p.m. on Friday, June 19, when it traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a pedestrian, Amanda Speigle, 35, of Salem. Speigle sustained life-threatening injuries and was flown to a nearby hospital, where she later died of her injuries. The driver was not injured, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol said drugs and alcohol are believed to have been factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
