ATV rider hoisted to safety after 100-yard fall in Providence Canyon

Vehicle Fire Logan Utah in Logan, Utah: An UTV rider was rolled more than 100 yards down a steep slope in Providence Canyon on Saturday afternoon and came to rest in thick brush near the canyon quarry. Emergency crews, including Cache County Search and Rescue, Logan City Fire Engine 72, Rescue 72, Medic 70 and Battalion 70, climbed approximately 100 yards up the rugged terrain to reach the rider. Intermountain LifeFlight was called due to the extreme incline, and a helicopter with hoist capabilities lifted the patient off the mountain and airlifted him to a regional trauma center.
