Witnesses told police that 21-year-old Laci Cote of Auburn ran a red light around noon while turning left onto Turner Street in a northbound white SUV, crashing into driver Steven Harvey, 50, of Lewiston, who had a green light. Cote's vehicle then struck an island and street sign, began to roll, and crashed into pedestrian Eric Powers, 36, who had been standing on the island, before flipping onto its roof. Cote and Powers both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Central Maine Medical Center.
