Richland woman identified in fatal crash on SR 240 in Richland Friday

Semi Truck Crash Richland Washington in Richland, Washington: A 46-year-old semi truck driver from Shoreline, Washington, failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Duportail Street and SR 240 (Bypass) in Richland, Washington, just after 8:30 p.m. Friday. The semi, traveling westbound on SR 240, struck the driver's side of a southbound SUV driven by Teresa Weers, 58, of Richland. Weers died at the scene. Her child passenger was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries. Charges of failing to obey a traffic signal are pending against the semi driver; drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors.
